Server Merge?

so here is the scenario, as of the previous post in this blog by Jed Medina states that the war started, the war got bigger, the war got more complicated. Well for some, they wanted to merge the server not because of the threat of the Philippines Server 1 - Ursa and their anxious greed for destruction among all the other servers including the current Server 2 - Canis.
I shall not be posting any names of the both opposing factions in the Canis server, but i shall not be silenced in their selfish request towards the IGG administration to merge just because they are losing. You as a player should be ashamed of yourself, having to choose that your only hope to have a come-back is to ask aid from the current Server 1 - Ursa. I have seen you people rise again from dust, i know you people have potential, we respect you even if some insults, if some attacks, if some gets angry. We are not savages! we are players of the Canis server, having a merge does not show dominance, but it shows your selfish side and your coward side.

The Battlefields: Another One Bites The Dust!

It is now Round 8 and the war may soon come to an end.

The forces of the Imperial Alliance is having a hard time coping with the firepower and the numbers of the Valiant corps and their allies, as the seemingly endless droves of fleets keep on coming at Planet TrysexxDotcom.

Armed with nihelbet ships and the latest Ship-Based weapons on the galaxy, the Valiants kept their word and lived up to the hype - the Valiants rock and they have begun the conquest of the Galaxy ruled by the corrupt and livid Imperials.

Canis Major - Planet Trysexxdotcom at War!

How the War Started - Skirmishes during the early days of March saw the tension rise between the Valiants and the Imperial alliance as RBPs were grabbed at lightning pace. Then the leaders of the Imperials were attacked on a seemingly simultaneous assault by the Valiants. First to fall were Planets Amper, Brainchild, Strike, Sylar, Versatile, Gemini and many of its leaders (including their alt planets). The assault continues as the raiders gather millions of resources from the Imperial's biggest and richest planets.

There were only silence from the Imperial forces as their ranks go down, but war is looming.

It is just a matter of time (or shall I say, a matter of mustering enough numbers and players to start a counter-offensive).

The War has Started! - As predicted, the Wrath corps and their allies (Shockwave, Emperor Masters, AKB48, MithrilVictorix, Validus) began to orchestrate a counter-offensive. They started gathering their planets at The New Order guild as they set up the initial stages of the war. Commanders were given orders to start preparing their fleets and launch a simultaneous offensive by getting back their RBPs.

In a war where resources are crucial, Wrath successfully gets their RBPs back and the murmurs at the World chat became louder. With their confidence back at an all-time high, the leaders of the Imperial alliance assured neutral planets that they still rule the galaxy.

The Destruction of Nokaschiskimi - Miss Geraldine, the Colonel of Emperor Masters taunted:

The Valiants can't even control their RBPs! So we take them! Can they even retain it for a month?
Known for her cunning and ship-building prowess, Miss Geraldine and Prisca, another of Emperor Master's leader dropped pirate 6 on Nokachiskimi, a long-time member of their corps but regarded by the two as a spy.

With his fleets ready for battle, Noka (as he is popularly known) got the shock of his life and in turn got his fleets destroyed. He is one of the first major casualties of the on-going war.

Valiants on the war path -  While the Imperials gather strength and momentum, the leaders at Valiant are on their final stages of completing their most advanced fleets. Orders were given and zZzZz, DekZ, Primecore, WarChild, ZoC, Grallohnll, Superman, Arma, Kathleen, Kopin, Life Force, Pichu, Triz, Livewire, Neo, Hatred, Wick, Ronicle, Cebu Emperor and Phineas (that's me!) focus on their respective assignments and targets.

Tension started to rise and you can feel the electricity in the air! Scouts were sent to planet TrysexxDotCom and intelligence were gathered. Can we take on Wrath? asked the Valiants...

And so the war has begun!

Round 01 - The Blue dots indicate allies and defenders (Imperial alliance) at Planet TrysexxDotCom. The Red dots indicate the Attackers (Valiants and their allies)

Acknowledged as their ultimate leader, TrysexxDotCom is an intelligent, shrewd and skilled leader of the highest caliber. He constantly ranked at the top of the charts and dictates how the Imperial alliance rule the galaxy. So it is just fitting for the war to be held at his planet...

It's all about the numbers, idiot! - Let me stop writing and just allow the photos to do it for me. At the next screenshot, after 2 days of battle, the tide of war has continuously turn to favor the Valiants. Note the Blue dots dominating the battle landscape...

Round 08: Ships gather at Planet TrysexxDotCom with the Red Dots dominating the landscape. Is this the beginning of the end for the Imperial alliance?
The Ruthless Cunning of Wrath - Najer, the leader of Shockwave is acknowledged as one of the most hated enemies of the Valiants. During the previous war between the Valiants versus ShockWave and AKB48, it was Najer who dominated the battlefields. But his skills were no match to zZzZzZ and the duo of WarChild and ZoC. While his lieutenants executed his commands and targets, they could not muster enough forces to obliterate the unstoppable surge of the Valiant leaders.

While war rages at TrysexxDotCom, Nigel launched an attack at planet WarChild, the Romanian leader of the Valiants. Regarded as one of the finest commanders in the Galaxy, WarChild was ready and in just a blink of an eye, obliterated the raiders and sent them back scurrying into space....

The Battle Rages on... - As of this writing, the war still rages on. One of the leaders of Valiant has this to say...

It's just a matter of time. What they said before when God smiled at them, Valiants! Eat the dust! Now it seems the same applies to them... only that, they might even eat Magma!
Stay tuned for the next round or so....

Imperial on the Move!

TZT.MviruZ here saying that The imperial alliance have started their war!
The Fallen "Wrath" corps is slowly taking over the RBP of the Valliant's Sub corps/Allies
At this current time, the Valliant maybe planning or is preparing to match up the opposing force from the Imperial Alliance, How would the Valliant react to this conspiracy? Will the Imperial Alliance rise again?
or will they be defeated once again?

this is TZT.MViruZ giving you the latest updates

Commander Highlight: Penni

Commander Penni is one of my personal favorite, she is by far the commander that can deal a huge amount of damage with basic stats and gems. Some commander can deal more damage than her but that's base on the stats of the commander, one of this is Rafia which can deal more damage if her stats is greater than the enemy's.
Penni's great and strong ability is called the "Last Stand". This enable her to deal 3x her basic damage. Though this maybe a total gamble because when she deals this 3x damage, she inflicts 10% of that damage to herself. So it's basically like a double edge, cunning plan. If you have the perfect build with her in gems and stats, she maybe able so dominate the galaxy.

My personal tip for this commander is to increase its star level to increase her stats. Use gems that regenerate the shield and use the gems that effect her accuracy because her ability is based on accuracy.

Penni's History:
"Penni has a sense of curiosity and a thirst for the unknown that has never been quenched. While exploring the galaxy, she has faced untold dangers but has never backed down from a challenge. Her ferocity and bravado have earned her a reputation as a wildcat. She believes in taking her foes down at any cost, sometimes sacrificing her own ship. During battle, she gladly trades hits with her opponents, dishing out up to triple damage at the expense of her own safety."
Hello People!

TZT.MviruZ here saying sorry for not being able to post any highlight or some other blog for the past 3 days but for you people to know, i am back and i am ready to make more post. I will continue the Commander Highlights and such so yeah... thats all have fun^^

FAR FROM OVER...

The funny thing about talkers is that they are always the first to go down.

In the continuing saga of the Valiants versus the corrupt, shadowy and often notorious players of the 'Imperial Alliance", the RBP is the key to survival. But don't get me wrong, the players from the dark side are nothing like Darth Vader or any other alien villain from that other saga, Star Trek. There is nothing mysterious about them.

In an online war game such as Galaxy 2.0, there is no such thing as rules of engagement. Anyone who fantasize about fair play, loyalty, humility or sportsmanship is an idealist who needs to be slapped in the face to get back to reality.

The psych-war has begun.

The funny thing about talkers is that they are always the first to go down. NOT! Actually they are the first to use the truce card, observed inside their 'smashed palace' and whine like humming birds.

Everything from here on will be unpredictable, but the final outcome will remain the same.

Commander Highlight: Sandora

Sandora is a very common but very useful commander. She is one of the famous "Legendary Commander".
She has a decent, innocent looking face but once she is in battle, you will think twice on fighting against her.

She has a very dangerous ability that scatters her damage into all the ships in the fleet. This is called the "lucky strike". For me, I don't think the term "lucky strike" is the appropriate name for the ability. Still, this ability can be proven devastating if used in the right way. This may eliminate the opposing enemy so easily, just like a snap of a finger.

Sandora's History:
"Though Sandora seems like a lovely girl during peacetime, she is a killer when it is time to do battle. Her trademarks include calmness under fire, proficiency in operating all kinds of machines, and knack for dispersing her foes."

-TZT.MviruZ

Commander Highlight: Hellen

Hellen is one of the powerful commanders of the game. Aside from the fact that she is a "Legendary Commander" she can guarantee that she proves the fact that she is truly strong. As a legendary commander she has the ability to instantly reload her weapons to the next round. this ability is called "Rapid reload". This commander favors the Missile and Ship-based weapon, it favors them because we all know, Missiles and Ship-based weapons have 2-3 rounds of reloading.

This commander will truly help in actual combats with her fleet of missile or ship-based ships. I hope to see more players using this commander because this commander is being neglected by many.

Hellen's history:
"It's often repeated in battle theory classes at the Galactic Academy, efficiency will win every time. However, most students put that theory in the back of their minds as they load their ships up with as much weapons and armor as they can. This often lead to chuckles from a bright young recruit named Hellen. She was the daughter of a wealthy businessman and had learned from a young age that everything costs, and the only way to come out on top was to be more efficient than your opponent, whether in the boardroom or on the battlefield.

Often wielding what seemed to be weak arsenals or deficient ship designs, she always seemed to come out on top - and much to their astonishment - usually within a few short minutes. The ability to quickly examine and determine the best use for products in business that she picked up following her father around the galaxy, provided the basis for an almost savant-like ability to select seemingly mismatched parts and equipment that perfectly complimented each other. Her ability to do so much with so little extended to the firing range as well. While most of the guys delighted in firing off as many rounds as the instructors would allow, they often failed to destroy their targets. However, Hellen usually needed only a few shots before her target was destroyed. Always efficient, and always ruthless, since graduating, Hellen has earned a reputation as a lethal adversary that will wait for the right moment to strike, and then with a few shots destroy her target and move on to the next victim."

Additional info:
Hellen can be merged with Reggie. with this divine card active, it could be a major "anti" on other commanders.(Can be merged with "Eternal Terrors Scroll".)

Divine Commanders: Claim Feral Raptors at event!

New Divine Commander Feral Raptors
I always look for Penni when I drew cards. I think her skills are awesome, notwithstanding the fact that, damage is reflected back at my fleets. Combining Penni for a new divine commander called Feral Raptors, is Wayne.

Wayne is another great commander, though I sometimes wonder if he ever gets tired carrying those cannons at his back... (that's supposed to be a joke!)

So IGG celebrating the first birthday of Galaxy 2.0 Philippines - introduced this new divine commander for an event. Here's the details:

Player Profile: WarChild (Valiant)

He's the player you want to avoid competing in the leagues. Powerful, skilled and a great strategist, Warchild is the ultimate Galaxy 2.0 player.

At Canis Major, he is ranked numero uno and for some good reasons. He is one of the first to level up and build top tier ships, he got a great number of the most awesome divine commanders and some of the most powerful fleets in the galaxy. But aside from game skills, he's well regarded in the Valiant corps. He said something to me that made me admire him more.

"I'm willing to sacrifice my ships to help a corpsmate" and he said it in a light, non-chalant way.

He is not local (ie he's not pinoy) but he is friend to a lot of pinoys already. I asked him a few questions about the game and he responded quickly to it. Here we go....

1. How long have you been playing Galaxy 2.0?

Since December 2011 (I used to play galaxy 1.0 few years ago tho).

2. What makes the game different from other games in FB or any online games in general?

Honestly I don't play any other FB game but i like strategy games and this one kinda falls in the right category

3. How much time do you spend each day playing?

Depends by day but GO2 isn't much of you really have to play more goes on chatting, the rest is send ships here and there and plan your moves.

4. As in many games, many players tend to resign because they failed to grasp the basic concept of the game and lose interest, What advise  you think any new player should know / follow to make them pass the level ‘of no return’ and keep them in the game?

  • Follow quest;
  • Join a decent corp with players willing to advice you on the right path and also keep you company

5. What it means to you to be part of Valiant?

Firstly would be being part of a group, something that's actually a purpose on playing any online game
and then come all the rest a group that's united enough and equal enough to feel good.

6. What ships are your favorites to build and use in attacking/farming and leveling up? Why is that?

For instances, pretty much independence, nothing lost 99.99% of time. About war, well lets just keep this a secret to be revealed on battlefield =)

7. What are the most difficult aspects of the game and why? What are  the easiest parts?

I dont even know what to answer maybe hardest part is the fact that you need to make a million alts to compete with all those who have the patience to do it (am kinda lazy haha). Everything else is pretty easy.

8. For a new player, what type of ships would you recommend if they love to attack/farm others? When you’re starting out, at what level did you started building ships?

Cybra is a good start and I started building my own ships very late when I already got to indeps/blackholes.

9. Who are the players you admire and respect?

Well, the list is way too long but as a general I respect anyone who fight like a man no matter win or loose, be it in league or in war.

10. Tell us something about you (which you wish to reveal, other than your real name!)

A question I really have no answer to give maybe next time a more specific one should do it xD

Commander Highlight: Lynn

Lynn, One of the most common favorite among Galaxy Online players. This commander has potentials to be one of the most strongest commanders in the game. Lynn has the ability to increase the damage of her ships as the battle lead onto more chasing. Her ability is called "Victory Rush", this having a bit of similarity to the ballistic research "Victory Rush" as well. In the ballistics research, the victory rush gives bonus damage depending on the range of the firing zone(the closer, the stronger the effect). Lynn have almost the same skill like this research, but her's is much better because her damage gains a bonus if her fleet moves a space and hit the enemy. It is like directional research, it increases as they move a space.

Lynn's History:
"Lynn is one of the more disciplined Commanders and she's certainly one of the strictest. Her demand for order has earned her incredible levels of respect as well as an aura of fear from the younger recruits. A veteran of the Expansion Wars, Lynn is now one of the senior instructors at the Academy where she is still looking for her protégé."

Additional Info:
Lynn can be merged with Sofia making them together the "Frontline surge".
This Divine Commander can be really deadly with both of the skills of Lynn and Sofia.

Tip#3 - How to Pass Restricted Instance 8 (Ri8)

I'm pretty sure that after 1 to 2 months of play, you have tried to pass all the Instances. But there are certain instances that may elude you. One of these is Restricted Instance 8. It's a highly sought-after instance due to the rewards you get - any of the four commanders who specialized in certain weaponry, and they are:

Lawrence - the Ballistic expert commander;
Evi - the Directional weapons expert commander;
Essidio - the Ship-based (SB) expert commander;
Tyren - the Missile expert commander.

If you're not lucky enough to get any of the above commanders, you might be rewarded with a healing card, a galaxy transfer, a revival card or an SP card. Your commanders are also rewarded with experience points.

Screen capture of an Ri8 instance using Independence fleets with a glass fleet at the center

So how do you pass it? One key point - You need to have Independence ships, and possibly, a lot of them to form fleets of 15 to 21. Another Galaxy 2.0 blog recommends the following:

Ri8 is a lot more easier than 9 or 10 since it does not contain ships which have Reflective Plating. It does however, contain ships with Extreme Counter Attack(ECA). Using Indies with Shield Regeneration modules will counter the ECA damage. Completing Ri8 with just ballistic fleets will be the easiest way to do it. Try not to use less than 14 fleets of 13,500 (1500 stacks) in Ri8, it can be done with 1300 stacks but you risk running out of shields
Each player has their own sets of research levels and because of that, the design cannot be uniform. However, there are common blueprints you need to install in order for your Indie ships to pass the instance. These blueprints are:
  1. EOS III (shields) - at least 5 units;
  2. Shield regenerator - at least 1 unit;
  3. Azrael (ballistic weapon) - at least 2 units;
  4. Bloody Mary (ballistic weapon) - at least 3 units
The variety of these blueprints will depend on your experience level and the quality of your commanders. It is highly recommended that you use your best commanders - preferably divine commanders like Rays of Destiny, Death from Above and Impending Doom. The level of their skills will boast your chance to pass the instance in a relatively short period of time.

Bear in mind that at the center of your fleets is a Quick Assault type, with a much higher firepower than the ones used for the Indies.

Since you are only allowed to try Ri8 three times a day, you need to really choose your commanders, and maybe removed them from your regular fleets. The badges you get from passing Ri8 will allow you to buy certain ship blueprints that will take you to the next level.

A look at the kind of blueprints you can buy using badges

Among the highly coveted blueprints include:
  1. Striking Sword;
  2. Aggressive Warlord;
  3. Nihelbet;
  4. Quick Assault;
  5. Daybreak;
  6. Last Stand;
  7. Shadow Guardian;
  8. Alliance Admiral;
  9. Presidio of Glory
The above ship types are the ones you can build after you have fully researched the three top tier ships - Hamdar (frigates), Helena (cruisers) and Tiamat (battleships). Because of the special features of these ships, you have the distinct advantage over other players who can only build Hamdars, Cybra, Nicholas, Tiamat or Helena.

Trash Talk anyone? In a competitive game as GO2, can you take the heat?

It was the Europeans who said that America, being a new nation, has no sense of history. Of course, many Americans will argue about that. In the Philippines, being another relatively new domain, people are said to be politically and ethically immature. If Americans are allowed to trash talk their President, so can Filipinos. In fact, they relish every chance they could find to trash talk the current President. Calling names seem to be the rage of the day. But while Americans show certain maturity in the political arena, the Filipinos can't (or wouldn't).

Trash talk is so pervasive that it also applies to such endeavor as an online game. Sounds funny right? Actually, it might be a symptom that has lingered in us through the years. People always fight - at traffic, at stores, in school, even in churches and malls. We love to argue - but some of us - have no sense of decency. We take everything personal. We hate to be criticized and we always love to retaliate.

In Tagalog parlance, "walang pakundangan panlalait na, namemersonal pa" So before I continue, let's see what is trash talking...

Trash-talk is a form of boast or insult commonly heard in competitive situations (such as sports events), primarily in the US. It is often used to intimidate the opposition, but can also be used in a humorous spirit. Trash-talk is often characterized by use of hyperbole, or figurative language, e.g., "Your team can't run! You run like honey on ice!" Puns and other wordplay are commonly used.
Trash-talk was commonly used by the heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali in the 1960s and 1970s. Since then, it has become common for boxers, wrestlers and other sportsguys to use trash-talk. Trash talking (or "hot dogging") in amateur sports ranks is generally discouraged and frowned upon (especially in youth leagues).
In more recent time 'trash talking' has become a large part of online life, on forums, particularly in the gaming scene trash talking is used by many to gain an enhanced personal image commonly referred to as 'epeen'
I personally have engaged in trash talks. It's something I am not used to, but in the long run, has to learn and live with.

A war game, after all, is about killing the enemy. What better way than to insult the enemy while he's going down.

But is there pride in it? I don't think so.

Anthem for Galaxy 2.0! - Hear Me Now by Hollywood Undead

Thanks to Starman for showing me some amazing vids - Hollywood Undead is awesome, but the fuckers' videos cannot be embedded. Luckily, there are other vidz that can be posted here too! Enjoy!

If you're tired of hearing the Galaxy anthem at the site, then you need to hear this!

It's about time you hear something else.

Highly recommended is Dove and Grenades!

Divine Commanders: Is Rays of Destiny over-rated?

Screenshot of DCC- Rays of Destiny
When I was still a new player, I have no idea about commanders. Joining the leagues made me realize just how important commanders are. As you all know, MP is needed to draw skill, super, legendary or divine commanders and there are so many of them to choose from (though the choice remains with IGG of course!). One of the most notable commanders I ever claimed is Maletiz. I used this legendary commander to win leagues and his ability to return back the force dealt by the enemy commander is an awesome sight to behold. I always thought Maletiz is the best commander.

But then again, how about Sandora? Sexy beyond belief, you could say there is something quite appealing with this little girl with a lithe figure. I'm not going to dwell on anything sexual (fuck!) but Sandora is one hell of a commander. She's powerful and deadly and pretty too!

Both are awesome commanders to behold! What more, when IGG decided to combine them - they created one of the most powerful of all divine commanders.

Everyone who knows the game want to get them. At a going rate of 1k MP, I had my first Rays of Destiny.

But before that, let us see what makes Rays of Destiny a divine commander to claim and behold...

This commander is a combination of Sandora and Maletiz and is created with the Rays of Judgement Scroll
Judgement: This skill has a chance to deal an additional 30% Scattering damage to all enemy forces and reflect all absorbed damage to its source. (Sandora + Maletiz) Affected by all 4 stats.
Commander's Chance to Trigger Ability
Note: The initial chance is the chance to trigger their ability when the total number of the related stats is 0. As the related stats increase, the chance to trigger commander ability will increase too. Click on the link to see a list and explanation of all Commander's Chance to Trigger Abilities.
Chance to trigger abilities - Rays of Destiny chart from Galaxy Online wiki
- -

Note on the above chart: According to the latest IGG posting, the ROD trigger abilities has changed, as shown in this post.

The question now is, is it over-rated or just about as expected? After using ROD on league and in different instances, I would have to say - it's worth the hype. But players have different experiences in using this DCC.

My rating (on the scale of 1-10) would have to be an 8.0 - It is a powerful commander that can win you leagues versus very good and skilled opponents. It can also help you pass difficult instances and in many ways, you can use this commander to attack planets, claim RBPs and just do damage to your enemies in more ways than one.

At the IGG forum, however, there were some discussion about ROD and how it performs vis a vis individual cards - specifically Maletiz and Sandora. Says one of the poster:

Yet your argument has no basis since you don't see the other end of the scale. A 7* ROD was sent into a friendly base on S22 and it proc'd so much we think it's broken cos it procs WAY TOO MUCH.
That single 7* was the only fleet sent and it lasted an absolute age against 20+ fleets on the planet, wrecking havoc. No single commander should be that powerful it's inbalanced beyond belief.
I should also point out that since they proc so much this corp has decided to get more RODs just to send into people's bases to wreak havoc on fleets based there, just by sending 1 fleet with ROD in it.
I would still go with my gut feel and experience, ROD is a dcc worth claiming and keeping - especially during times of war and destruction.

Maintenance and Updates on March 1st

IGG Forums has announced a maintenance on March 1, 2012, but soon moved to March 6, 2012 due to some reasons. Upon this maintenance new updates have been released!

Here’s the direct word from IGG Moderetors:

“The developers of Galaxy Online II will be performing server maintenance from 1:00 am to 2:00 am EST (GMT-5) on March 1st. This maintenance will include updated features in the game. When our work is complete, all players will receive 800 vouchers in recognition of their patience. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you all again for your continued support! “

Upon this update new things have changed in game. Here are the changes brought upon us:

1. Rewards for Lucky Wheel will be improved.

[He3 Pack] will be replaced with [Gaseous Planet]
[Metal Pack] will be replaced with [Metallic Planet]
[Gold Pack (B)] will be replaced with [Luxurious Planet]
[Merge Chip] will be replaced with [Memory Chip]
[Gift Pack (S)] will be replaced with [Impending Doom Card]

2.  Players will be able to obtain the Independence Blueprint from the Level 9 Treasure Box dropped in the Normal Instance instead of the Challenging Chests dropped from Restricted Instances. Blueprints acquired this way are bound to the player.

3.  The new Divine Commanders below will be added to the “Draw Commander Card” function.

a) Honey Badgers
Spell: Suicide Strike
Chance to deal 6x damage while attacking but also reflects 10% of damage back to your ships. (Wayne + Penni) (Affected by the Speed attribute.)

b) Iron Maidens
Spell: Fountain of Youth
If the total combined value of Iron Maidens'base stats exceed those of the enemy commander, their ships'stability will increase to their maximum and has the chance to fully restore Shields and Structures each round. (Dilira + Rafia) (Affected by Speed and Dodge attributes)

c) Suicide Sirens
Spell: Risky Surge
Chance to deal 3x damage and instantly reload weapons, but also reflects 10% damage to attacking ship. (Penni + Hellen) (Affected by Accuracy and Electron attributes)

d) Tactical Wizards
Spell: Bamboozle
Chance to avoid damage and increase enemy He3 costs by up to 5 times. (Nick + Bruce) (Affected by Dodge and Electron attributes)

4.  To ensure a smoother World Chat for players, the system message for winning a “Construction Card” from the Lucky Wheel will no longer be displayed.

5.  The Player's Level Cap will be raised from Lv.100 to Lv.150.

Though these updates were implemented, some of it had problems like the 800 vouchers became only 300 and there is still no proof on the 2nd update. Still, these became fun, and I say it is a very nice update it took away the annoying construction card system update every time you get it from the lucky wheel, though it may be not so lucky.

I expect more updates in the coming future, looking forward to good ones and updates that makes more people enjoy Galaxy Online 2.

VALIANT IS THE NEW ALLIANCE!

You're probably laughing or fuming mad at my recent post, What it takes to be VALIANT. But then again, you are not me. In these times of war and intrigue and hypocrisy and power struggle, you as a player, needs to decide which Corps you have to belong to.

So, while the war is far from over, you need to get the kind of support, protection and camaraderie that you deserve.

Screenshot showing latest ranking of Corps - with Valiant at no. 1 (as of March 6, 2012)

WHAT IS AN ALLIANCE? And before I go any further, what is an alliance? Is an Alliance a means to an end or is it just the start of something good? It really depends on the kind of leaders and followers. As they say, you cannot be sure of anything unless you have experienced it.

But going back to the question, an Alliance is a haven. It is a place where you can find yourself with people sharing common interests. It is a place where you can seek help and that help is almost always available. It is a place where you get to know more about the game without having someone make fun of you. A good alliance is like a second home. You feel at ease, and you get defended. Like a true and loyal friend, the people you share an alliance with are the same people who share with you and value your friendship in return.

I am not going to say that other Corps are not as awesome as VALIANT. Of course, they are. The only problem is - they don't have us. So now, you can join us too!

Tip#2 - Protecting your RBP (the cheesy way)

Protecting your Resource Bonus Planet (RBP) is a must! This apply especially to new Corps who went out of their way to get their very first RBP. As soon as the protection period has elapsed, anyone can take it back and down goes your Corps' ranking and your ability to generate more resources.

Skilled players will tell you that one of the ways to keep an RBP is to lodged fleets inside. The number of fleets will certainly depend on the level of the RBP itself, and how many ships players can set aside from their armadas. The level of the meteors and thors might also be upgraded to destroy incoming enemy fleets.

Screenshot of a Resource Bonus Planet (RBP)

One forum post at IGG tells a different way of protecting an RBP. While many players (including the poster) argued the unethical nature of such a technique, the method remains effective, if not, annoying. But then again, RBPs are supposedly 'for keeps' and there will always be ways to keep them no matter what players might say...

Here's the deal...

So I am watching a battle for a resource bonus planet and the losing team (defenders) sent 9 hours worth of decoy attacks from alt accounts to stall the resource bonus planet out so they can keep their resource bonus planet.

CHEESED. So the timer runs out and they keep the resource bonus planet, because they sent 9 hours of decoy attack.

Hey, IGG can you make it so the Resource Bonus Planet battle keeps going instead of finish the round and send all ships home? People play dirty and cheese with their alts, these guys are willing to stall 24 hours if they had to.

Better yet, have admins for your server to drop ban hammers. In any other game, exploiters get banned.

Because the attackers were going to win and take the resource bonus planet, the defenders sent 9 hours worth of decoys from alternate accounts so they could keep their resource bonus planet.
~
1000+ decoy fleets were used. It takes 1000 decoys to stall for 8 hours... this is 9 hours +

This is HotNoob's tactic that would make taking any resource bonus planet impossible and is therefor an exploit.
I copied and pasted the original post and changed nothing.

What you say about the technique is none of my business, and you may agree with this or not.

I would think any Corps with the ability to produce ships that can muster enough defense to keep it safe and absorb the time limit is fine. Is it unethical? This is supposed to be a game, and players are given enough freedom to think and plan their strategies...

War is said to be exploitative, and there have been many instances when people are not treated ' humanely'. Is that reason enough to reflect real life examples into something as mundane as this game? Perhaps not.

Whatever...

Many Filipinos are super sensitive to criticism and they hold grudges. This apply especially to immature young teens or even adults who never had the chance to go outside the country and experience different cultures. But then again, even those who lived abroad tend to retain this sort of behavior...

In a war game like Galaxy 2.0; the fun gets 'obliterated' by people who take things too seriously.

Women, and I mean players who supposedly are women, talk too much. I love an intelligent conversation, but then again, please make it worth my while. You know who you are...

To Truce or Not To Truce: That is the question. I've been told to apply truce during sleep time. It's a strategy that works but do they really know if I'm sleeping or not? That should be the question.

Divine Commanders can suck too! I want to talk about commanders and its one hell of a topic to discuss.... So lemme collect my thought and post something worthwhile.

What it means to be VALIANT

Instinct. The ability to feel what is right and wrong. I use my instinct whenever I deal with people. I always allow them to talk first and listen. How people talk, the way they react and how they use words define them as a person. But sometimes, you get a lot of surprises. With the advent of social networking, and the re-definition of the global community, people on the net can be quite deceiving.

Playing this game is both a challenge and a reality check. You get to know people and how they tick. The choices of whom you associate yourself will define the future of your play.

The Corps: Belonging to a corps is an essential factor in survival. In this game, you survive by being able to face anyone head on. There are a lot of compromises, bargaining, terrorizing and maneuvers. Most of all, you need to spend money and buy MP. Anyone who tells me differently is either an idiot or poor (or both).

Screenshot of the Valiant Corps' Philosophy and Main Page

What makes Valiant different? Very simple. Players in the corps are allowed to have their own voices and giving everyone the chance to say what they want. It is this freedom that makes everyone equal.

There are leaders, of course, and followers. But this distinction is blurred when the benefits of everyone is at stake.

Fortune favors the brave, that's what I was told. Being VALIANT means being able to face anyone without blinking an eye.

We may not be the most skilled of players, or we may even be idiotic or naive in playing this game. But unity defines strength and that is something we have that others don't.

Tip #1 - Ship Modules' Order of Sequence

If you think you have designed the most awesome, powerful ships, then think again. I was told by certain top level players that there should be a sequence to follow the way you build your ships. You need to start with the engines. For apparent reasons, because engines define the ship's movements and in order for your ships to attack, it should be equipped with the best engines around. More of the order by which BPs are arranged below. Tell me if you think there is a better way, we can always update this list and make it more effective, accurate and helpful...

Tips courtesy of some friends at the US server....

Order things should be Placed, First to Last

1. Engines (Super Transmission engine, Team Combat Engine and Anti-Matter Engine)
AUX modules (Agility Booster, Infrared Scanner, ECM, Auto target System)
Gravity Maintenance Facility
Ship Reinforcement Facility
Shield Regenerator
Hull Maintenance Mechanic

2. Reflective Plating

3. Anti-Aircraft Cannon
Missile Interception
Fighter Interception Cabin
Powered Pulse Cannon
Ship based Weapons - Note that Ship based weapons act like interception modules with last tech

4. Daedalus Control System

5. Quick Reaction Armor

6. Extreme Counterattack
Energy Armor
Shield Modules (EOS, Heat... etc)

7. Energy Shield Booster

8. All Weapons Except Ship-Based Weapons which should be placed before reflective

*Modules Unaffected By Placement order:
Nano Station Warehouse
Station Warehouse
Atomic Framework
Orbital Shield

Order of placement of the modules is important due to the order of the calculations. For example the Daedulus module goes on before the EA module because it will negate 40% of damage whereas the EA module negates 45 points of damage. So it is more effective to have the daedulus negate 40% of total damage first, then the EA negate 45 points of damage per EA module.

The Battlefields - Warchild and ZoC versus Amper

Lessons in the battlefield: Some idiot observed that only cowards attack at the dead of night, or when the enemy sleeps... He probably has no fucking idea that war is when you least expect it. The best war strategists will tell you - never underestimate your enemies. It is during the most unexpected of times that they might attack, and using strategies you may not even be aware of.

When you get angry, you might as well accept defeat. It is during these times that you lost your composure and the ability to reason. Once logic is out of the equation, chaos comes in. But let us get back into the battle....

First Strike: At around 9 pm (Manila time), Warchild (Valiant) and ZoC (Valiant) launched a massive attack against Wrath leader, and Lt. Col Amper (Wrath), generally regarded as one of the leaders of that corps and of their alliance.

One lesson learned - always supply your fleets with much-needed HE3. Otherwise, you will have nothing but fleets that cannot move - and fire back. As they say in the States, you're a sitting duck. In tagalog, unutil ka, di mo kayang magka-anak. Baog!

Here's the result...

First Strike: The Battle @Planet Amper - Brainchild (Valiant) and ZoC (Valiant) enters Amper's domain and obliterate his fleets.

Why the attack? Very simple - when you want to cripple your enemies, you target his ship builders. It's common knowledge that Amper build and sell ships. What better way than to destroy the ship builder. Using the latest in advanced weaponry, the duo of Warchild and ZoC completely outperformed the sleeping giant (or college kid).

The response as they say is purely academic. Let's wait and see then, will there be a second round?

Untitled - Part One

Pero cool ka lang, this is just a game
A game of deception, strategy, luck and fame

Isipin mong this is just a game
and that you've lost all and the same.

The War has begun...

Valiant - the corps. What does it mean, as a word, as a term, as a warrior, as a player?

adjective

1. boldly courageous; brave; stout-hearted: a valiant soldier.

2.marked by or showing bravery or valor; heroic: to make a valiant effort.

3.worthy; excellent.

Notwithstanding the history surrounding the animosity between Wrath (and the Imperial Alliance) with Valiant, my corps - war has begun and we started it.

This is my first war and I love it. Don't ask me to blog in Tagalog, so fuck off!

As they say, the sweet smell of success is in the air. Shown below is the screenshot of the war result. Me and my friend, Grallohnll happens to team up for the attack.

As a slap on their faces, they announced a philosophy that says all warfare is based on deception. Deception is also based on perception and strategy and how you can take advantage of the situation.

So while sleeping like babies in the night, the Valiant warriors attacked and how they attacked! With blazing guns, with fire in their bellies and with the confidence to succeed. If you watched Troy, then you know what I'm talking about. The warhorse which was sent as a gift, is actually death in disguise. As their planets and people face death in the face, their world collapse into oblivion.

Wham!

Screenshot: War result between Phineas and Grallohnll versus Versatile @Planet Versatile.

Of course war is far from over. But the initial result in quite satisfying. Like a freshly opened wine from the cellar or ice cold beer.

Trash talkers can have their say, and oh say as you wish. The white flag at your planet is the indication of what has happened. Loser!
